The ATP has rated the ITG Challenger Series as one of the world’s finest events, and the series has seen an impressive galaxy of stars in its brief history. Among the ITG competitors, we’ve hosted Gustavo Kuerten (Roland Garros winner; 1997 and2000), Fernando Meligeni (Brazil’s top Davis Cup competitor), Ramon Delgado(Quito Challenger runner-up in 1997 and Pete Sampras’ nemesis at the 1997Roland Garros), Felix Mantilla, Gaston Gaudio, Oliver Gross, Guillermo Canas, Davis Nalbandian and many others. Fast-paced, hard-hitting action is a hallmark of ITG events. The ITG Miami Challenger promises to be one of the must-attend tennis event of the season.

ITG Directors

Fabricio Valdivieso

Fabricio Valdivieso is a native of Guayaquil,Ecuador and was born on the 3rd of October 1955.He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in Marine Law and Policy and a Post Graduate degree in Shipping and Ports Administration from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology. He worked for two years with The OPEC(Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) in Vienna, Austria. Fabricio was a member of the Ecuadorian Davis Cup Team in 1973 and had a tennis scholarship at Pennsylvania State University during 1975 to 1979.He worked as a Chair Umpire and as a Supervisor for twelve years with the ATP(Association of Tennis Professionals). He has supervised events in Brazil, Colombia,Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, United States,Mexico, Portugal, Malaysia, Indonesia,Hong Kong, Japan, and Taipei.He also holds the distinction of being the only Ecuadorian ever to achieve the Gold Badgeas a Chair Umpire and as a Referee in the International Tennis Federation. He was designated to be one of the Neutral Chair Umpires for the Davis Cup American Zone Final in 1986, held between Chile and Argentina. He was also a Chair Umpire in the Peru versus USA tie in 1988.

Carl Fiorentino

Carl is a lifelong tennis enthusiast, and has passed that love of the game on to his son, Carlton, who recently turned pro and is currently competing in the ATP Challenger Series.Carl has been involved in bringing the sport of tennis to local venues in the metropolitan Miami area, as sponsor and cosponsor of several junior-level events.Carl holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and additional degrees in International Business.Carl is the President of TigerDirect, an online retailer of computers and consumer electronics,based in Miami, Florida. Carl has built his company from a catalog/direct retail startup in 1987 to a major computer retailer. Today, TigerDirect is ranked among the top 20 online retailers in the world. TigerDirect currently operates catalog, manufacturing and web operations in the US,Asia and Europe, plus retail stores in several American states and Canada. Carl brings exceptional organizational skills to the ITG Challenger Series and heads the marketing efforts worldwide.
